Arsenal attempt to sign the belgian Yannick Carrasco

1 min read

The Gunners were close to signing the Belgian in 2018 before he moved to the Chinese Super League.
Arsenal have been handed a boost in their long-term pursuit of Yannick Carrasco – with his club Dalian Yifang reportedly looking for a replacement.
The Belgian midfielder has been on the Gunners’ radar for some time, having attracted interest from the club back in 2018. Carrasco opted to move to China from Atletico Madrid, but his time in the Super League appears to be coming to an end.
CalcioMercato report that Dalian Yifang are lining up a swoop for Carrasco’s international teammate Dries Mertens . The Napoli frontman is available on a free transfer at the end of the season if does not extent his current contract in serie A.
Carrasco would no doubt have to take a pay cut if he were to move to the Emirates, with his current wages at £175,000 per week. He has been in prolific form in the CSL, scoring 14 goals in 19 appearances so far this season, as well as providing six assists. In addition, he has also regained his place in the international set up, playing the full game in the win over San Marino whilst coming off the bench in Monday’s win over Scotland.
